The Result of obedience

Written in 2019

An oldie but goodie. I have been revisiting my past blogs and realized since changing my website template (almost 2 years ago) I left out a lot of my old blogs. For the next few weeks, I’m going to upload one new blog and one old one until I have all the blogs uploaded. I’m excited to revisit old Monica. Boy has she grown! Be Encouraged.

If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. - Deuteronomy 28 NIV

I have been wanting to share this good news for months, but I am so excited to write this testimony. God is truly faithful. I hope through this journey of mine that you all will be able to see how GREAT God is and how His promise still stands. May your faith be increased in Jesus' name.

Just about two months after being delivered from the spirit of discouragement in January God moved MIRACOUSLY on my behalf in the month of March. My phone buzzed in my work vest, out of curiosity I clicked on the message that read, “ Are you still interested in teaching?” My eyes widened in shock, I jumped by my work desk in excitement. I thought OH. What is God up to? I replied with a “YES”, knowing it had to be God’s will the way the opportunity presented itself. With the assistance of my friends and wise counsel, I managed to send in my resume, cover letter, and other credentials the next day. The following week was P.U.S.H (Pray Unto Something Heavenly). It was such a powerful week of prayer. God’s miracles, signs, and wonders took place in all the lives of those who attended. Healing, financial breakthrough, career, education, and more. I know the prayers from that week truly played a part in my breakthrough. On the 28th of March, I had my interview to meet with the principal of the school I applied to. The interview was less than five minutes before I knew it I was walking out with the new hire packet. This was it! I had gotten the job to teach for the 2019-2020 school year. My dream as a little girl of becoming a teacher became a reality.

That's supernatural favor or in the words of my discipleship teacher, “ Undocumented favor.” BUT GOD! WON’T HE DO IT!!

God will restore everything that was lost if we put Him first and obey. I shared with you all my heartbreak of being blocked from school and failing my state exam. I shared with you that I wanted God to give me the desires of my heart, but I was committing idolatry by giving everything else first place instead of Him. Yet, as soon as I died to my will God released his favor and blessings on my life.

Before I could get this job I was prepped and groomed for three years at my past job working at a retail company from cashier to head cashier and finally front-end supervisor. It was far from easy. God was teaching me how to love the unlovable, to forgive, to build up instead of tear down, to bless others, to pray and care for others, and to walk in humility.  I was close to quitting after about a year. I had found a job as a substitute teacher, but God told me to quit because He did not release me from the retail store. I was not to leave prematurely. Although it was a trying experience I obeyed and continued walking by faith. Some nights I would cry wondering if God had forgotten about me, but He’s always several steps ahead. His ways are always higher. There’s something greater on the other side of our obedience, greater than we could ever imagine. We must not faint or give up during temporary trials in our lives.

The paperwork queen! Although I knew I wanted this season to be over, I realized I had to learn to be content even in the in-between.

If we choose to disobey. The word says,

You will grope about in broad daylight like someone blind, and you will not be able to find your way. You will not prosper in anything you do. You will be constantly oppressed and robbed, and there will be no one to help you. -Deuteronomy 29

Please Wait on Him. Wait on the Lord. It may seem like forever, but it is just preparation for where He wants to take you.

Thank you for hanging with me as I crossed over from the desert into the promised land. I can’t wait to share new downloads, new revelations, new wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that I will gain from God in this new season. Love you all.

Be Encouraged,

Love Monica
